ExtraordinaryHeidi SwainLife-affirmingHazel PriorBig-heartedCaroline DayBeautifulJulietta HendersonHeartwarmingDaily MailUnputdownableMy WeeklyA joyGood Housekeeping Joe loves predictability. But his life is about to become a surprising adventure. Joe-Nathan likes the two parts of his name separate, just like his dinner and dessert. Mean Charlie at work sometimes calls him Joe-Nuthin. But Joe is far from nothing. Joe is a good friend, hes good at his job, good at making things and good at following the rules, and hes learning how to do lots of things by himself. Joes mother knows there are a million things in life he isnt prepared for. While she helps guide him every day, shes also writing notebooks full of advice about the things she hasnt told Joe yet, things he might forget and answers to questions he hasnt yet asked. Following her wisdom applying it in his own unique way this next part of Joes life is more of a surprise than he expects. Because hes about to learn that remarkable things can happen when you leave your comfort zone, and that you can do even the hardest things with a little help from your friends. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️/5
This book is both heartwarming and heartbreaking and will have you going through all your emotions! Joe is one of the best book characters and doesn‘t have a mean bone in his body, as described to us by his Mum. This is a book I normally wouldn‘t have gotten so, I‘m glad it was a BOTM choice💙

We all need a Joe-Nathan in our life. If our moms‘ tell us we haven‘t a mean bone in our bodies we should believe that and be like Joe to make this our raison d‘être.

Velvetfur That sounds like a cute book ☺️ 4mo

While the story feels a bit familiar, it doesn‘t take long to love its protagonist, Joe-Nathan. On the spectrum and with OCD, Joe-Nathan finds comfort in his routines. He loves working at The Compass Store, watching Friends and looking at trees. He has his mom to help him— and her words of wisdom to guide him in the daily use blue book. When his circumstances change, he rises to the challenge & even makes new friends along the way. A sweet story!

I have truly fallen in love with this book and Joe-Nathan. Positively uplifting, emotional, and lovely, this is quite frankly a novel that this world desperately needs right now. I love that it was written in a way that allows us to see the world through Joe's eyes and as someone who was diagnosed with OCD, this is the first time I truly felt "seen" in a novel. I so appreciated how well this is handled, with care and understanding.

Injeanious Great review! Now I need to get it! 6mo
