I ordered this from Book Depository last week after drinking too much wine 🤦🏻♀️😂 The good news is this totally looks like something I would read without wine as well 😛 Lots of crazy images inside. This is going to be fun!

I'm loving this book so far! It's a bit like Welcome to Night Vale, but ruthlessly mocking britain instead of the u.s. (though it gets in some choice digs at the u.s. that make me absolutely howl). And I love 1970s gothic. I hope a bumper crop of millennials and gen z-ers can someday cash in on our collective 90s and oughts nostalgia in this way. The PSAs we grew up with are seriously creepy too ("I used to be pretty...").
My girlfriend is in the ICU, but at least the book I ordered finally got here 🙃😢😭
So this person's name is PC Lyre... is the author insinuating perhaps Personal Computers Lie??? Could it be, could it possibly be that PCs LIE!! Question Everything...

It is turning into bizzare book Friday for me. I think that eye is looking into your soul...

Oh man. That speaks to me on so many different levels!

This book is so so good. Was not sure what to expect from the little I saw on amazon but it‘s so well written and quite trippy. Had a night veil / league of gentlemen vibe to it, the 70s motive is excellent to. So well done.
This one has me intrigued- but I'm not sure if I'd love it or hate it.

Scarfolk is a fictional northern English town continually looping in a very bizarre version of the year 1970. It was created by writer artist Richard Littler who sometimes shows up as the town mayor.
The detail here is *really* impressive, and creepy AF. It goes perfect with the Hauntology themed playlist I made/am obsessed with: https://open.spotify.com/user/129349992/playlist/3PGKqjhIjYlc13ydjsET9N
It's a special #LitsyAfterDark edition of #bookmail! With a special added bonus of #bookmilestones ! This book is based on the website Scarfolk Council - sort of a UK Night Vale - and very much in line with the music I've been listening to. But it's only available in the UK, so I finally broke down and bought my first ever international edition! And it was delivered when I got up to take the dog for his late night walk! So excited for this!
Okay, this is a music rec - but hang on. I've been listening to the Ghost Box Records catalog, and it is crazy good. If you like eerie, off kilter instrumental music from a past that seems entirely possible, you have to check this out. I think fans of folk music, ghost stories, horror, Night Vale and British things will dig it so, so much. You can follow along on Twitter (same handle) and I'm collecting my faves on Spotify: http://spoti.fi/2bmSlFu
