pickOne of my favorite literary women is Rhoda Manning. Over the course of the years, through short stories, Ellen Gilchrist has given a us a portrait of a strong and sassy Southern woman. She takes us back and forth through Rhoda's life, from small child to middle age and beyond. It's an interesting medium. Doling out portions of Rhoda's life for so many years, I've found it a fascinating journey to follow. #augustofpages Day 23
