Dual POV Romantasy set in 16th century Germany. Sadly, mostly a disappointment. Not a total loss due to some action in the middle but overall not for me. Mild spice. There's a second book which I won't be reading either.

Soft pick. The world was neat, the magic system was great… but I wasn‘t feeling the chemistry between the MCs. & it would have been craftier storytelling to conceal Otto‘s motivations for longer.
Storm hit and the power went out. Guess I am reading by booklight & candlelight tonight. It has been out for a few hrs at this point. The lack of AC and/or air movement is what's really going to do me in though.
Adventure and danger. Character growth and atmosphere. This has social commentary about fanaticism, power, and corruption. It has everything I like and yet it took half of the book to pull me into the story.
