The Stolen Throne
The Stolen Throne | Abigail Owen
4 posts | 4 read
My twin sister is the true queen of Aryd. She survives, hiding and clinging to life in the desert, while I reign as the false queen alongside the monstrous King Eidolon. Theres only one escape from this gilded prison: Reven. My Shadowraith. My heart. Only the shadows that he struggles to control are growing more sinister, more powerful. Its just a matter of time before they turn on him...and on me. Even escape doesn't mean true freedom, though, when we're still on the run from Eidolons unstoppable armies. And when we discover theres a traitor among us, I have no choice...I must become the queen I was never meant to be. Because as one evil hunts me, the other loves me more than himself. And my fate lies with both. The Dominions series is best enjoyed in order. Reading Order: Book #1 The Liars Crown Book #2 The Stolen Throne

Jumps right in where book 1 left off.
Meren spends the entire book searching for the cure to what is plaguing her sister, the true Queen of Aryd, and how to defeat King Eidolon, who seems desperate to take those she loves away from her, is hunting them at every turn. The only person keeping her sane refuses to be with her even though she can feel the pull to be with him stronger than she can feel the magic flowing in her veins.

#serieslove2023 This sequel to Liar‘s Crown was just okay. I felt the same about both books- eh. Meren is just trying to save her sister and keep her friends and loved ones safe but everything keeps going wrong and they keep failing. I guess I have to read the 3rd book to see how it ends and if they can defeat the evil villain. 🤷🏼‍♀️ 3 stars ⭐️⭐️⭐️

I am so sad that this was a letdown! I loved The Liar's Crown, but the sequel was really a womp womp ⭐⭐ for me. Very little going on here in the way of plot, but also lacked the vibes to make up for it. (Also only available from my library in Libby edition so I couldn't read it on Kindle.)
