This one really surprised me on how much I enjoyed it. Once I figured out what was even happening that is. It didn't really click to me until probably almost the middle of the book to really get the premise. Going into it all I knew was that it was based on retellings of some of the Grimm Brothers lesser known tales.

October Reads - part 2

I enjoyed most of the books this month. Most of them were witchy cozy paranormal. Besides those my favorite was Greymist Fair.

This was an interesting one—a YA fairy tale, inspired by lesser known Grimm fairy tales—in a book that looks like it‘s for the middle grade crowd. The story unfolds slowly, told in sections that jump between characters, moving forward & backward in time, but then it starts to come together & connections are uncovered, secrets revealed, friendships forged & by the end, the marvelous village of Greymist Fair is changed for the better. A good read.

Book mail! Loved Eliza and Her Monsters!

Short stories are always a hit or a miss for me, but the stories in Greymist Fair were captivating! Each one progressively reveals more about the town & its secrets, while also tying into one another seamlessly. Many of the characters were interesting, but Dr. Death and Death were absolutely riveting. They were certainly the most complex characters, with mysterious backgrounds & motivations. Their character arcs were wonderfully written as well!
