pickA good mystery with two main characters, both women. One is a single mother with two young children, who works from home finding hidden assets from deadbeats. The other is secretive with an agenda to find a treasure which was hidden by her despicable father who was a former mob accountant. David Baldacci is a good author. 4/5
Ughhh I just started this one for my mysteries book club and I‘m already fed up with the shitty writing. Mickey Gibson is a single mom, y‘all! She has two small kids! Her hip is permanently jutted out and she‘s covered in puke! Her pantsuit is too tight around the middle cause of that “mommy pooch”, she drives a “mommy van,” her dad rocks but her mom gives her a hard time about her figure.
Ha! Ha! MOMS, AMIRITE???

pickTwo smart and strong female characters start as enemies but the mystery of a dead body pulls them together, with each seeking to figure out the other along the way. It was a fun enemies to friends mystery.
I have read several Baldacci‘s books most of which were in the thriller category, but Simply Lies was not that for me. It was a good book, but just not what I was expecting.
