My sister-in-law in Vermont just started a book club that I can participate in virtually and I'm so excited! This is the first book pick and I'm about 75 pages in and enjoying it thus far.

What‘s wrong with this sentence?

Riveted_Reader_Melissa Grammatically or candy knowledge? 🤪 6y
Prairiegirl_reading Reese‘s pieces are peanut butter not chocolate. 6y
MelissaS @Riveted_Reader_Melissa candy knowledge of course! 6y
AliciaDean Yes, I was going to say, there would be no chocolate smudge, because Reese's Pieces have no chocolate! 6y

Mehso-so

This was an average read, not horribly bad, but not outstandingly good either. There was the usual issue of the MC making some unbelievably bad decisions. I wouldn‘t reread it. 3 ⭐️

Bailing- boring and I do not care who did it. The last straw was when the cop in regards to a woman od‘ing said “its not just black kids” as though they wouldnt be worried if it was just a bunch of black kids dying from drug overdoses 🙄. DONE

Went to the Museum of Russian Icons with friends today and had to bring home some tea and a nesting doll. The art was SO BEAUTIFUL. I love religious iconography. The gold and bright colors speak to my soul. 💕Now I‘m trying the chai and settling in for some introverting. (And yes that is more beer back there. When G-Bot is around I always get some to have on hand).

Pickpick

Carol Goodman is an amazing writer. She has a flair for the eerie, suspenseful story. The only negative I had was I really didn't like the main character, Nan, and how she handled her grief. But I guess that's the point; grief is messy and nobody handles and processes it the same. P. 273, "...You hear the story you want to hear. And maybe the one you need to hear,..."

If you have never read this author, Carol Goodman, you must! Just received her newest book as a gift from my best friend. "The Drowning Tree" and "The Night Villa" are amazing!
