I couldn‘t review this before, as I knew it hadn‘t made the #camplitsy23 shortlist but you lot didn‘t! 🤣
When I was in London I chatted to 3 booksellers - the first didn‘t rate it at all, and thought it needed editing, the second thought it was the best book ever about the queer, black experience and the third thought it was a ‘nice‘ romance.
I tend to agree with the third - it felt like a typical millennial love story. ⬇️
Great potential with a BIPOC protagonist who is a struggling poet in London and trying to navigate through her queer relationships but the writing style is a bit disjointed and even the second half could be fleshed out more. Overall, meh.
