so-soA strange place to start with Burroughs. Chaotic, fragmented and disturbing; the cut-up method is certainly evocative. I enjoyed how it sets the tone and atmosphere but in Soft Machine it drowns the already ludicrous plot. More artwork than novel. I can‘t quite tell if it‘s allegorical, drug induced paranoia or a sick joke that only Burroughs was in on. 6/10
