Some better than others - some with not enough Marple, some too far in the future. Overall good though
In this book, modern authors take on Christie‘s writing style and give her beloved Ms. Marple more murders to solve. I think they all got the style right, but there were some stories where Marple seemed a little out of character. My personal favorite was A Deadly Wedding Day by Dreda Say Mitchell.
Got the audio from the library, so far I am enjoying it, the narration is good, and the stories are engaging.
Miss Marple is near and dear to my heart, so I knew I wanted to read the new collection of short stories featuring the detective. It was written by 12 different popular authors, and overall it was very enjoyable. I especially liked the stories that leaned heavily on characters from Miss Marple‘s town who fans would remember. While I prefer novels that give the plot more time to develop, I‘m glad I read these! You can tell the authors love Jane. 💗
Bk3 of November is done! Thank god. I really enjoyed this anthology of Marple stories by prominent female writers, except funnily enough the one by Leigh Bardugo. The story itself was good, but the ending was soooo not Miss Marple. Which was a shame as it was the last story too. But I highly recommend the whole book, but I‘d love to hear your view on the Bardugo story!
I‘m so behind on everything this month! I think this is only my second book of November so far☹️Having another bad “brain fog” episode, plus having a sick & very noisy grandson is distracting, but I‘m over halfway done with this & I‘m enjoying it immensely, which is awesome. 12 short stories by current female crime writers featuring Miss Marple & so far they‘ve done a great job with it. I‘ll review tomorrow probably🤞See you then👋
