This is a near future story about a woman that had escaped a cult and was living in the woods. She comes home to find her husband dead and her daughter missing. She goes to look for them. Meanwhile the police are looking for her. There are fires everywhere, birds falling from the sky. Could this be the end times? Could the daughter be the beginning of the end?

January #roll100 picks. Not sure how I feel about this selection, but read it or DNF we will see. At least we are going to get stuff off the shelf. @PuddleJumper

This was one of my Amazon First Reads picks (I think from last month) and I have mixed feelings about it. It's about a cult. Anything about cults is kind of alluring to me. The idea of how they came to be and what draws people to them. But these characters are hard to keep straight. Many of them go by several different names which was completely confusing. The storyline got crazy chaotic by the end. I'm not sure what actually happened. ⭐⭐⭐

Wow! One of my favorite reads of the year. The author pulled off what I feel is one of the hardest techniques to do. The reports, newspaper articles, autopsy reports, podcasts, etc. added a layer to the characters and did not bore! There were definitely some fantastical elements that kept me turning pages wondering how true it all was to their world.
