A beautiful mysterious read. I was ready to believe in magical transformations to explain a disappearance 3/4s of the way into this story of bees, love, commitment and compassion. 🇨🇦 lit has a new voice
Book 31📚 5⭐️
I believe everyone should read this book. It can really open your eyes to some serious topics. Trans abuse and relationship abuse are the core issues discussed. It is a beautiful and heartbreaking story.🏳️⚧️💕
This is my first by this author. Great character development. I‘m sitting at the edge of my seat to hear the rest.
I downloaded this thinking it was the new Jodi Picoult, but instead found a wonderful new author. I loved the two mysteries that were part of the story, the rural setting and the the characters. Melissa's heartbreak and longing for a happy ending in the disappearance of her father was particularly well done. The story is also a tribute to bees and the need to protect them for our survival. I will look for more from this author. 4/5 stars.
A young man disappears from his southern Ontario farm job (on his girlfriend‘s farm) for a few months & then shows up with the strangest excuse: he had turned into a hive of bees. The premise hooked me and the execution kept me turning the pages. This is one wild ride! #ShadowGiller2022 #CanLit
“I missed the stars, when I was bees,” he whispered.
