Book 24📚 3.8⭐️

Finally jumped into this ARC I received last year and I will say by the end I was more confused than at the beginning! I assume there will be a book 2? I need answers!

It is quite a wordy novel and current on pronouns, even for the AI‘s / the “aliens”(?) I‘m not quite sure what everything is honestly😂

If you like sci-fi, check this out! And then help me understand haha. It‘s intriguing.

THE GENESIS OF MISERY has such gorgeous worldbuilding, coupled with sheer STYLE, that I initially thought I‘d fall completely in love with it. While I maintained my deep love for the book‘s vibe from start to finish, I‘m sorry to say I never became as invested in the plot or the characters. That lessened the impact, especially where the ending is concerned, though I‘d still consider it well worth reading. #gaymay

Charlie came to visit! She dozed under my chair (with occasional squirrel-chasing interludes) while I started THE GENESIS OF MISERY. It feels like a book I could love. I‘m excited to really wallow in it tonight. #gaymay

It took me a few pages to get into the rhythm & syntax of the book but once I did, wow. This one was hard to put down…& also happens to be hard to review without risking spoilers. So…if you like your space operas big, bold, & full of giant robot space battles, this is the book for you. It has a queer, diverse cast of characters, explores prophecy & belief, truth & the stories we tell ourselves & there is more to come. Can‘t wait. It‘s excellent!

Just in! Tuesday book mail is always exciting although, in truth, I‘m much more excited about the tagged book than I am about The Golden Enclaves which is why I am going to read it first…starting now!

This one was a masterpiece of world building. Neon Yang will leave you questioning the truth and reality of their worlds and yours. A space odyssey like you‘ve never encountered before. Comes out in September. Stack it if you love Sci-Fi that excels in plot and worlds.

I loved Yang‘s Tensorate series and am very much looking forward to their first full length novel…and then I stumbled across it‘s very cool cover this morning and now I‘m even more excited! It‘s out in September.
