Its independence war leaves #Bangladesh torn apart - the country and its people. Maya and her brother Sohail have become estranged during the years. He has become a devote Muslim, she a fighter for justice and freedom. Their mother tries to keep the family together.
I enjoyed the glimpses into the Bangladeshi way of life and I learned a bit about the country. Like you said @squirrelbrain a book to #likenotlove.

#WeeklyForecast 17/21
This week I am trying to squeeze in two books for the #womensprizeforfiction and one more Asia book before the end of the month. I am halfway through No One is Talking About This and am super curious what‘ll happen in the second half!
Thank you so much Helen for sending me the #Bangladesh book! My #Bhutan swap will be on it‘s way soon too!
Also thanks for the balm, it smells delicious and I can sure use some focus 😉! I am happy for you England is opening up again and I hope you can soon enjoy all things normal again like going to the library 🤍
I‘ve given this a pick but it‘s one of those books that‘s really tough to read - war, tragedy, abuse, sadness. I‘m glad I read it though and I did learn a lot, although I had to research around the novel, as it assumes a lot of knowledge and doesn‘t always explain enough background.
Barbara - I‘ll send this one on to you next time I go to the PO.
