The Confidence of Wildflowers
The Confidence of Wildflowers | Micalea Smeltzer
6 posts | 7 read | 11 to read
My future is a big 'what if' at the moment and I'm fine with that. For the most part. When Thayer Holmes moves in next door, the grumpy landscaper both fascinates and amuses me. When he asks me to nanny his kid, it's a great way to make some extra money. It's impossible not to fall in love with Thayer and his adorable son. There's a big problem though. I'm eighteen. He's thirty-one. Falling for someone almost fifteen years older than me wasn't part of my plans, but sometimes things happen when you least expect them.

18 year old Salem‘s life has been full of trauma. When her 30 year old neighbor, Thayer moves in her whole world is turned upside down. This definitely has some open door activity and some SA triggers. I am into the next one now because I need to know what happens with this couple. It‘s more of a YA read but still good and easy!

I loved this little series it is a small town age gap romance! The writing style and the small town vibes really did it for me! Has anyone else read these books?

⭐️⭐️⭐️ I wouldn‘t have picked up this age-gap romance on my own, but a trusted friend let me borrow her copy, and the cover is just so pretty! I tore right in. Total CoHo vibes, but better writing. Unique character names like Hoover, too, which made me laugh / cringe. I became invested in Salem and Thayer. There‘s an incident I could‘ve done without, but it‘s a major plot point, so I won‘t give a specific content warning. It hurt me, though.

britt_brooke Note: I should add that I do enjoy CoHo. 😂 1y
ShelleyBooksie Gorgeous cover. I haven't read this. Not sure how I feel about a romance with an 18 vs 33 year old. 1y
britt_brooke @ShelleyBooksie I wasn‘t so sure about it either, tbh. In the second book, she‘s older and it‘s less weird. 😅 1y

KristiAhlers It was a so-so read for me. And not amazing enough to pick up the second in the series. But the cover is beautiful! 2y
KristiAhlers @Alwaysbeenaloverofbooks hey you may love it. It was free with the KU program. 2y

⭐️⭐️⭐️. But just barely. This is an age gap romance and I‘m not sure who was more immature. The hero or the Heroine. Although there is a second book and this one does end in a cliffhanger I‘m honestly not invested with them to care really. I‘m assuming they will eventually get their HEA and I have a tepid yay for that. #romantsy #readingchallenge2022
