Brielle is a New Yorker content with life until she receives the news that her Paternal grandfather is not only sick, but an African King in need of her to assume the role as Queen in the event he passes.
Marriage is the stipulation of her ruling this country, which means arranged marriage. This book gave very much Princess Diaries vibes. Charming and sweet as she navigates this new responsibility with grace and faith.

I really enjoyed this contemporary Christian romance with a rather unique storyline and setting. Brielle had been raised in the U.S. and was enjoying her life. She was more than surprised when she was told that she was heir to the throne of an African Island nation. Can you say plot twist?
It was a lovely and satisfying story.

The storyline was very predictable. It had the feel of a movie from a few years ago. The names were hard to pronounce. I did like the character of Iris. She was a great supporting friend. The romance was a little rushed but very sweet. If you‘re in the mood for a little royal intrigue then this is definitely the story for you!

I received this book from the publisher for my honest review.

The sweet and lovely book cover definitely matches the beautiful story of finding home and love. It has hints of Princess Diaries and Bachelorette and has great fun moments but serious moments as well when addressing poverty, slavery, women's rights, and grief. A bit of mystery, suspense, and plot twist also is thrown in.

I received the book via JustRead Publicity Tours and opinions are solely my own.
