This was a solid thriller. I can‘t say there was much mystery to it as we find out pretty quickly what happened to the two missing teenagers, but it was interesting seeing how our main character, the detective and temporary sheriff, figured it out. The various characters were unique and this small town really came to life. Would love to see more books featuring the sheriff or taking place in this place! 🌟🌟🌟🌟

The deputy of a small town, Ben Packard, tries to solve the mystery of two missing teenagers. I liked the main character and overall story. A bit predictable but an enjoyabke read.

Overall, not a lot of mystery here…since it is the kind of story where the reader is on the “who, what, where”. Despite this, it was so very engaging. I seriously flew through this twisted story. It would make an excellent movie or at the very least a start to a new series.

An interesting book. A teenager is kidnapped and a detective is looking for her. Will he find her in time? The bad guys could not be any sleazier. I read to the end and decided it‘s an ok mystery if you like this kind of light reading.

It started off as a gripping story, but the events seemed to come to their conclusion too quickly; I wish the climax had been stretched a little more with more, or extended, conflicts. Gary is easily my favorite character; I simply adore him. This novel also touches on some serious themes that are present in society today, such as substance abuse, kidnapping and sexual assult, double lives, and the victimization of seniors, to name a few.

A little different than some of my usual interests but recommended by my local library. It's interesting so far. I'll have to remember to post a review later.

There was a little too much missing in this one for me 😕, but overall, a decent read for the category.

Although I did feel the book was quite entertaining, part of that entertainment came from how corny it felt at times. This largely stemmed from the cartoonish feel of the villains, although a few other characters felt both over-the-top and one dimensional. Of course, if this continues into a series, there is plenty of time to better develop the townspeople.
