pickI've been a huge admirer of Katherine for years so was very excited when I saw she has a book out. The book was a lot more hard hitting than I was expecting, I always see her as light & fun but she has been through some darkness to get where she is now & it was interesting to see snippets of how she came to be who she is. The last paragraphs of the final chapter spoke to me so deeply that I now recite her advice in my head. Would recommend a read.
panI think maybe The Audacity suffered from the fact that I‘ve read so many truly brilliant memoirs lately; by comparison, it fell flat for me. Something about Ryan‘s voice and approach just felt… off. She has a very matter-of-fact tone, which I‘d normally like, except it was coupled with 20/20 hindsight; she doesn‘t really bring the reader along with her.
