From the bestselling author of Dumped, Actually comes a hilarious, heartfelt story about marriage, divorce and what the hell happens next.Amy and Joel's honeymoon in the Maldives was the perfect week of love, sun, sex and a free minibar...but unfortunately, it was also the high point of a marriage that quickly descended into an absolute disaster zone.Eight years on, they're back in paradise, trying to recreate the magic with new partners. What a crying shame they've picked the same week to do it...Trapped together on an island small enough to spit across with the wind behind you, Amy and Joel pick up right where they left off: at total loggerheads. And so begins a hideous week of rivalry, one-upmanship and score-settling--as each tries to prove they've now comprehensively won at life. The thing is, hurt and pain are strongest where there was once love. And what if being back in this island paradise, with all its wonderful memories, sets sparks flying in more ways than one?

I picked this only because it was set in the Maldives and I‘m trying to finish #ReadingAsia2021.

Happy to say it was delightful and funny. A divorced couple run into each other while on vacation with their new partners and chaos ensues. I don‘t know if I learned anything about The Maldives but I enjoyed this audiobook.

BarbaraBB Glad you had a good one to tick off Asia! 2mo

Tagged! I read this book in 2022 to help me get out of a reading slump in 2022 because I fell into a slump in 2021 after my grandma passed away. This book is set on an island where 2 exes run into each other and they‘re both dating other people. They do stuff to mess with each other. The ex bf changed out the ex gf‘s food at the restaurant when she was on a date with her bf and she ended up with really bad gas. That part was funny.

1. I didn‘t but my mom did one Christmas. My mom‘s boyfriend told her that he wanted a truck for Christmas but she didn‘t buy him a truck. She bought him a set of 4 Hot Wheels toy trucks for Christmas. She said to him,”You said you wanted a truck for Christmas so I bought you 4 trucks.” He was laughing. He thought it was funny.

2. The tagged book has 2 exes playing jokes on each other because they ran into each other on vacation.

Here‘s my review for a book I just finished listening to. This was my first book by this author but I don‘t know if I want to read any other books by him. This book was okay but I didn‘t really care for it very much.

I‘m currently listening to this book from Kindle Unlimited. It‘s really funny. It‘s about 2 exes who go on vacation to the Maldives and they‘re both dating new people. It‘s funny seeing how they‘re handling having to see each other on vacation while they‘re both dating other people. It reminds me of the movie Forgetting Sarah Marshall. The same thing happened in that movie too.

I love this author as his books are hilarious and snarky! Two exes realize they‘re going to the same tropical island for a week and both are outraged. Spalding deals with marriage, divorce, deceit, and ultimately redemption! Will make you laugh out loud!

Now this was a good summer read. I've been slowly starting to read more romance books, and this particular book had one of the endings I was most satisfied with. Joel and Amy are regular folks, you'll love them and hate them, but you'll care about them either way. And then there's the Maldives, where this story is set. Atmospheric and a lot of fun.
