The Good, The Bad and The Undead
The Good, The Bad and The Undead | Kim Harrison
From New York Times best-selling author, Kim Harrison, comes the second book in her brilliant series, The Hollows; packed with vampires, werewolves and witches - dont miss out on this sexy urban fantasy. During the last few months, former bounty-hunter Rachel Morgan has been rather busy. Having escaped relatively unscathed from her corrupt former employers, she's not only acquired a vampiric room-mate called Ivy, faced werewolf assassins and battled shape-shifting demons, but has also found the time to pick up a boyfriend (even if he is only human) and open her very own runner agency. But cohabiting with a vampire, however reformed, has its dangers. Ivy's evil vampire ex-boyfriend has decided that he wants her back, and views Rachel as a tasty side-dish. To make matters worse, Rachel's demon mark is the ultimate vamp-aphrodisiac; one that works both ways. The stakes are high, and if Rachel is to save herself and her room mate she must challenge the master vampire and confront the dark secrets she's kept hidden even from herself.

Book 2 in the Hollows series, a #BlameItOnLitsy & mainly blame it on @MeganAnn series. In this one, someone is murdering Ley Line Witches in horrible ways & Rachel consults with the FIB before getting kicked off the case & taking a run from Trent. I‘m enjoying learning about the characters‘ backgrounds although I keep getting mad at Rachel for some of her choices.😱My library has the next few e-books available so I‘m going to try & work them in.

MeganAnn Yay! ✨❤️🎉 Rachel does make stupid choices… especially in the first few books. But somehow I still love her even when she does dumb stuff 😆🤷‍♀️ And I love Ivy and Jenks even more every time they help bail her out or help her realize why she‘s doing these stupid things. 3y

Someone is killing ley line witches in The Hollows, and it's Rachel's job to find out who. First working with the humans cops as a consultant, she's led to untouchable billionaire Trent Kalamack; but when the cops kick her off the case due to her loose relationship with their rules, her prime suspect becomes her primary sponsor. Kalamack hires Rachel to find the serial killer and to clear his namee; & it's so not someone you want to tangle with.

Riveted_Reader_Melissa This was a great series! 4y
ralexist @Riveted_Reader_Melissa - It's one of my faves! I'm doing a re-read of the originals before I pick up the latest, American Demon. 4y
Riveted_Reader_Melissa @ralexist I‘ve honestly considered doing that as well. It‘s such a fun and complex world she built. 4y

I didn‘t have a super productive day chore wise, but I did get lots of reading done!

The second instalment of the hollows, and the main characters are starting to take more shape. I love the interactions between Ivy, Rachel, and Jenks, and we see more of my favourite character, the Demon Big Al.
I have never been a big fan of Trent, and so far in this re-read my assessment has not changed. But maybe the next book will change my mind!

Reread! I bailed on this series at some point because I had a bit of a tantrum over a character death - and I feel enough time has passed to revisit and find out what happens... this second outing was much better than the first as characters are more established, the mystery was quite gripping. Rachel‘s vendetta against Trent will probably get old but I‘m pretty sure this will eventually even out into a friendship.

My reading view! Pretty!

AlaMich I wish I were there now!! 7 inches of snow here and below zero temps to come 🥶🥶😭 6y
thegirlwiththelibrarybag @AlaMich, today was lovely but it‘s been a hot, unpleasant summer for the most part 6y

I definitely enjoyed this more than the first book. I‘m hoping the series will hit its stride in the third book. There‘s a lot of potential in this world. I just hope the main character becomes less obnoxious. #read #FemaleDetective #Booked2019 #ImaginaryCreature #PopSugarReadingChallenge #audiobook #4of65

BarbaraTheBibliophage I love The Hollows! I read about five and then stopped. I need to get back to it. Great job! 6y

I am reading this to my other half, a chapter a night, as a bedtime story. Last night we finished on one hell of a cliff hanger and tonight he has chosen to go out and socialise. One more night to read what happens next.

The first half of the book is a bit slow, the second half is confusing, because too much is going on.
