This was my first graphic novel, and I found it fascinating. The graphic format made it easy to understand Haiti's very complicated, sad, and violent history. I will read more of this series.
TieDyeDude That's cool! I'll have to check this out. If you like historical graphic novels, I recommend Joel Christian Gill's work: The Talented Tenth and Strange Fruit series. 2mo
julieclair @TieDyeDude As it turns out, I do like historical graphic novels! Who knew? 😂 Thanks so much for the recommendation of Joel Christian Gill. Turns out he has written a book about Robert Smalls, a local hero! I live in the South Carolina Lowcountry, and Beaufort, where Smalls was born, is our county seat. I can‘t wait to read this! Just ordered a copy. 😃 (edited) 2mo
