Leila‘s brother-in-law asks her one morning in a rush to drop her nephew at daycare, but on the way in she gets an emergency call from work and forgets he‘s in the car, leading to his death. As you can imagine, this is a brutal story with a taut court section. And the ending is a doozy. I have some quibbles with it, but it‘s quite good. #ReadYourEbooks

Well this story of sisters and their children just twisted itself into a 5 star read.
I think I figured out that one final twist but it was still a surprise.

This is one of the most intense and tragic books I‘ve ever read! I can‘t believe more people aren‘t talking about this one! One of my favorites of the year for sure.

I have loved the last two books by this author and this one vaulted her onto my favourite author list. It is a legal thriller about a woman charged for forgetting her three year old nephew in a hot car. It is heart-wrenching, twist filled, thought provoking and oh-so good. I gave it 5/5 stars.
