Have you had a bit of a week? How about a hilarious book & a weird cocktail? Red wine & vodka, explained this way by Tiny Bulcher, the smash & carry man of this gang: "Why not? Gives the vodka a little taste, gives the wine a little body." Yes I tested it (for science!) & the ratio is 4:1 in the wine's favor but honestly you can do better. Classier version: 4 oz Lillet Rouge & a splash of bourbon (or Lillet Blanc & gin) over ice, orange twist.
BookishFeminist 👀 thanks for helping me set my evening plans! 🍷 9y
JPeterson Yes, please! 👍🏻🍷 9y
agirard I would have never thought to add vodka to wine, but there it is. May have to try this next time I have vodka on hand (wine is always on hand). 9y

Kitty_Rochsmith @AmyStewart I just realized something! You are the author of one book I bought today and one that I checked out from the library!!!!! Eeeeek! 9y
AmyStewart @agirard honestly there is not much to recommend it but it's always interesting to try weird drinks in novels. Lillet with a bit of extra booze, on the other hand, is wonderful 9y
ApoptyGina69 A friend of mine went to Spain and red wine + coca-cola was all the rage. I have not tried it yet. 🍷 9y
SusanInTiburon I'm reading Travels With My Aunt, and Aunt Augusta just ordered a port and brandy.
