Walk in My Combat Boots
Walk in My Combat Boots: True Stories from America's Bravest Warriors | James Patterson
5 posts | 6 read | 6 to read
Soldiers, sailors, airmen, and Marines speak in their own words about real life in today's armed forces. Walk in my Combat Boots is a powerful collection of never-before-told war stories crafted from hundreds of original interviews by James Patterson, America's most trusted storyteller, and First Sergeant US Army (Ret.) Matt Eversmann, part of the Ranger unit involved in the infamous Battle of Mogadishu portrayed in the movie Black Hawk Down. These are the brutally honest stories usually only shared amongst comrades in arms. Here, in the voices of the men and women who've fought overseas from Vietnam to Iraq and Afghanistan, is a rare eye-opening look into what wearing the uniform, fighting in combat, losing friends and coming home is really like. Readers who next thank a military member for their service will finally have a true understanding of what that thanks is for.

My son is a Marine recruit and listening to these stories while I went out for runs was humbling.

Well, yes.

This is an impressive book that allows the reader to learn quite a bit about the personal experiences of what it is like to serve in the Armed Forces of the United States.

Wow! This is going to be a tough read. It‘s personal stories told by men and women about their experiences in the US Armed Forces. Each story is brief, but there is so much pain in these pages. All civilians need to take a long, hard look at how brave our servicemen really are and be grateful every day for their service to our country.,
