Not every book in the series has a 5 star plot, but devotees don‘t care. 😄

I love how Smith has created the idiosyncratic characters of this beloved series.

📖 7-20-22 || The No. 1 Ladies‘ Detective Agency | The books in this series are my favorite comfort reads. I‘ve been reading almost one per year since 1999 and at this point the characters feel like friends (esp. Mma Ramotswe)! Do you have a favorite comfort series??

If you‘ve ever read any of these books you know what you‘re getting. Sometimes that‘s a good thing! I really enjoyed catching up with the staff if the No. 1 Ladies Detective Agency today while doing chores. #ReadingAfrica

I feel sad saying that I found myself often skipping over long, descriptive paragraphs. I have probably read every book in this series and was disappointed because there wasn‘t a very interesting mystery in the book. I still loved being in the wonderful world of Mma Romatswe and the always funny Charlie and Mma Makutsi. These books always talk about the simple joys of life, but I‘ve liked his earlier books much more.
