bailedI slammed my head into the pages of this book so many times out of pure frustration, and that was the incentive I needed to #hailthebail. The first instalment had pacing issues - everything was happening too damn quickly - which irked me, so it's like a cruel twist of irony that the opposite is true for the sequel - the sloth-like pace was mind-numbing. And the main characters brother - I hate him, I hate him, I hate him! (1/3)
TheIntrovertedDodoBird Any love I harboured for the other characters and curiosity to where this adventure was heading was unceremoniously devoured by my dislike of him. There's only so many times a person can handle his woe-is-me attitude before they throw a book across the room. (2/3) 11mo
TheIntrovertedDodoBird Whether the reader is supposed to feel sympathetic to his plight or outright hate him, I'm not sure, but the more chapters his POV consumed, the more my hope faded of reaching the conclusion. I have absolutely no idea why we were pulled out of the narrative of the extremely likeable main character for that sob-story-misery-guts-wannabe-hero *rant over* (3/3). 11mo
