Essays from a tiny diner in the middle of the country. These are stories of love and adaptation at the broad intersection of commerce and community, and of how a pandemic changed everything and nothing about us.

My lunchtime reading companion. Just walked around and around the edge of my Kindle for 20 minutes 🥰

Read this! I cannot believe I am the first to post on this book. It‘s wonderful. Please, take my word for it; if you trust me, if you‘re heart is broken by the loss of friends and family members and need hope and restoration of a little renewed faith in humanity, these simple essays are delightful or achingly tough, heart-warming, perfect. And it has pie.

BkClubCare “I don‘t have a safety net to offer for this sort of situation. I only have sandwiches.” (Do what you can.) 4y
