Golden Prize and Other Stories About Horses | 
In one story a boy wins a horse in a contest and takes it to live in his city apartment. At 7 years old I tried to use this to counter Mom‘s assertions that a horse is “too expensive” and we “don‘t have a place to keep a horse”.

TheSpineView I bugged my parents to death and they gave me in. Later they told me they were afraid I would lose interest after they spent a bunch of money. Now here I am 50 years later still have a horse and ride regularly. 4y
