Linda has an unusual background and grew up isolated from society. That alongside her notoriety makes her a bit of shut-in. Until an alluring extrovert moves in next door. This is an interesting blend of near-future dystopia, mystery, and family story, exploring grief, mental illness, the meaning of family, identity, and social norms. It was interesting. Not great, but good.

I wasn‘t sure what to expect from this #NetGalley wish come true! My first experience with this author, I found the background here to be as intriguing as the plot itself- set in a not-too distant future where the pandemic is a part of history but there‘s an uptick in both public violence & technology. Linda, known as #CloneGirl, is out of the public eye & lonely- until a new neighbor moves in & their friendship urges Linda to learn the truth.

I really liked this story! The near-future setting in a world post-election and post-COVID is fascinating – not too “out there” as it‘s not too far in the future, but definitely different than the world we‘re living in today. I very much enjoyed exploring that reality for a few days while I savored Forget Me Not.

3.5 stars. I really enjoyed the first part. Learning about Linda and who she was. The pace was a little slow but very engaging.

The middle portion dragged a bit. Too much time spent in the virtual world, not enough in the real world. The ending was satisfying and exciting.

I thought the interludes with the Glitch Hunter game were confusing and unnecessary. The book makes more sense without them.
