Mehso-so

The chemistry between Seb and Anya is great, steamy and believable. The plot moves quickly with some fun dialogue, but even for HR, the storyline was utterly ridiculous. I almost threw the book across the room at the big twist.

Bateman‘s books have gotten better over time (the Ruthless Rivals series is far superior to this one) so I‘ll be on the lookout for new books, but I won‘t be digging further into her backlist.

A couple of moments felt a little more like a Russian culture lesson than a romance novel, but I loved the chemistry between Anya and Seb nevertheless! #historicalromance

Final in a trilogy (I‘ve read the second one too) and only the second book I‘ve read from Bateman. While overall a good story with a couple of original scenes for a historical romance, I found it pretty much par for the course. Russian Princess Anya is incognito as she flees from France to London from a villain. Earl Sebastien Wolff, as a favor to his great aunt, protects Anya at his gaming hall. Hijinks and love ensue. Just OK for me. 3.5/5⭐️
