Beautiful.
I cried numerous times. Tears of sadness, tears of frustration, and tears of joy. I adored every single character, especially Sarah and Nurse Angles (Mother Angel). 100% restored my faith in humanity.

The first one hundred or so pages got me choked up several times. I loved seeing Alfie and Alice bond and relished in the blossoming friendship. I did eventually lose my groove with the story, though.

Alice and Alfie spend months in the hospital with only a curtain between them. Both having been involved in accidents. They make a great connection without ever seeing each other.
Such a feel-good book, loved it. Taking place in modern day London, Alfie and Alice are two strangers who have both suffered life-altering injuries. In the rehab ward, they end up as next-door neighbors with only a curtain separating them...a curtain that Alice won‘t allow to be opened. This is a story about facing life‘s challenges/curves, finding solace through connection, and becoming even stronger on the other side of despair. Wonderful 🔻
I liked it, but it was so predictable.
This was an honest and heart-wrenching story which has left me wanting to know what happens next. Alice and Alfie have burrowed into my heart and their individual accidents and recoveries were depicted with painful accuracy. The hospital scenes and procedures were well written and the whole book was a joy to read. #NetGalley
