Connection Error | Annabeth Albert

It's typical of video game programmer Josiah Simmons to be the last one on the plane on the way to the biggest meeting of his career. Though he's (mostly) coping with his ADHD, he can't handle another distraction. But he also can't ignore his rugged seatmateespecially once he learns the military man's a fan of his game. Ryan Orson refuses to let his severe injuries pause his career as a navy SEAL. He's got hours of grueling physical therapy ahead of him, and no time for anything that might get in the way of his return to active duty. But that doesn't mean he's above a little first-class flirtation with geeky-cute Josiah. When a delay strands the pair in St. Louis, they agree to share a hotel room and a night of gaming. Neither expects their new connection to move to the next level in the light of day. Opposites may attract, but is this game over before it's even begun? Book Three of the #gaymers series This book is approximately 66,000 words One-click with confidence. Steamy M/M between a video game developer and an injured Navy SEAL.

This has non cringey disability rep - the SEAL is in his adjustment period but is not magically fixed by sex/love, and the game developer has ADHD which causes realistic problems that he deals with appropriately. The two tread on each other's toes a little at first but work past it. #romance

I've just finished Hana Khan Carries On for the Canada prompt of #booked2022, and if was completely steamless, so I've picked up this one for the Hotel prompt. After that only one to go for summer, so it should be easy to finish by the end of Bunuru! (This is our second-summer on Noongar Boodjar). #romantsy #romance

On my hook : five rounds to go to finish this king size bedspread. Ardith Meets Phoenix. Twirls Pastello. #litsycrafters

Though this isn't the best of Albert's books, I still stayed up way past my bedtime last night reading it & then proceeded to not get any work done today as I was instead reading it curled up in a semi-comfortable armchair at the library. I love Albert's way with characterization. The conflicts often stem from the challenging life situations the MCs are dealing with (ADHD and injuries in the line of duty here) & thus feel believable. #romantsy

moranadatter I got a couple of error messages on Goodreads this morning too while trying to add a book to my TBR. I guess lots of people are starting the new year by planning their TBR lists. 😀 8y

)3.5 stars) Three Thoughts 1) well this book tackled some real world issues that I wasn't expecting - Real & raw & full of heart 2) loved Ryan & Josiah and the journey they both took in this 3) ending felt weak & rushed in comparison to all that came before
