so-soI wish there was an “it‘s complicated” option! On one hand, I LOVED the characters & their journey in this story. It‘s an ode to Black girls, female sexuality, & just how absolutely messy AF teenaged romance can be. It‘s funny, painful, beautiful, ridiculous, & realistic. On the other...there are some issues with how race & ethnicity are handled that shouldn‘t be ignored. Honestly, this would have been a five-star book, if it weren‘t for that.

This YA book about a girl and her two guy best friends, sounded like a fun read, and for a teen, they'd probably love it, but sadly I didn't.
The dialogue between the characters bugged me, and the characters felt superficial and far too selfish.
My bingo card for #BookSpinBingo is getting lots of squares colored in. I have a few reviews to catch up on tomorrow, but I wanted to share this before retiring for the night to read. 😀 Only 10 books left to read.
