I decided to start this book. I won a physical ARC of this book from a Goodreads Giveaway in 2021 but I‘m going to listen to this book on audio. After listening to the first 3 chapters, I don‘t know if I‘m going to like this book or not. The synopsis for the book sounds interesting. I‘m going to keep reading and see if it gets better. If it doesn‘t then I‘ll probably DNF it.

This book was ok. I read a lot of YA, but this was a mostly love-triangle (with a healthy dose of exploring her own sexuality), and it didn't have any other elements that made it stand out. Writing was decent - there were no glaring plot holes or unresolved issues, but I did find myself pushing to be done, so I could move on.

4 ⭐ I am not sure what I was expecting from this book, but I loved most of it. I am not a devote of Demi Lovato, so I didn‘t know that “Cool for The Summer” was a song about sexually experimenting in summer. I also did know Demi changed a lyric from “don‘t go” to “now go”. Hopefully, I didn‘t just give the book away.

LibrarianRyan Lara has had the biggest crush on Chase Harding for as long as she can remember. Her senior year, he finally has a crush right back. Everything should be prefect, but there is a nagging that things are just not right. You see, over the summer, Lara hooked up with a girl. Her mom‘s boss‘s daughter to be exact.

This story is told in two time periods consecutively. The “now” is when Lara is with Chase, and the “then” is how Lara and Jasmine w

LibrarianRyan went from acquaintances to much more. Both parts of these stories are interesting, but the “now” timeline gets a kink when Lara walks into school and finds out that Jasmine has moved in with her dad, and now goes to her school too. Chase is her dream. Jasmine was just her summer. But why does she fell so awful.

I loved this book. It is heavy on tropes such as mis communication, but it‘s the ride of the story that makes it worth it. It does

LibrarianRyan have some dry points, and one does get a bit tired of the two ladies trying to upstage, ignore, but also make each other jealous. But it‘s teenage love. That is the drama for which one picks up this book. Now is this the best sapphic teen romance there is, no, but it was well done, a bit sappy, and just fun. It left this reader with a smile on their face at the end, like a good romance should. 2y

LGBTQ+ YA romance that deals with identity and the ways we can surprise ourselves. Alternating timelines let‘s the reader get a feel for both of Larissa‘s situationships and feel just how confused and conflicted she is! High school is a rough time for figuring yourself out and Dahlia Adler created characters that are doing just that.

YA book about a girl in her senior year of high school who is figuring out her sexuality. Would recommend for mature teens and adults.

4/5 for this one! I loved this one! The love triangle was messy but awesome! Lara was such a great character that grew so much in this book. Jasmine and Chase were also amazing characters. I felt like The author did a great job of showing the complexity of not knowing who you are and what you identify as. I also have such love for the side characters. Lara had a great support system in her mom and besties! Thank you Netgalley for this ARC!

While I loved the genuineness of the characters in this book, the overall writing was a little cliche. It was a sweet easy read. Really relatable. Liked it just couldn‘t bring myself to love it.
