Secret Agent Man Goes Shopping for Shoes
Secret Agent Man Goes Shopping for Shoes | Tim Wynne-Jones
3 posts | 4 read
A charismatic young boy turns an everyday outing into a thrilling, top-secret adventure in this energetic, offbeat picture book. Secret Agent Man (S.A.M.) needs new shoes. His mom — er, sidekick, "K" (short for Kay) — takes him shopping. But the operation will be dangerous: to start with, Shoe Store Man looks shifty. "Frisk him," says S.A.M. With the help of a Team of Expert Spies and keen observation skills, will Sam find that his brand-new tiger-striped shoes convey a new superpower . . . and that he can now tie his own shoelaces? Imaginative play is the mission in this witty picture book with retro illustrations that cleverly merge S.A.M.’s escapades with the ordinary world. Roar!

A fun Realistic Fiction, TS's include LC, S, IR, SR and PR. A story about a boy, S.A.M., who has a wild "adventure" while going shopping for shoes and his journey home with K. This boy has a wild imagination, but excellent artwork, especially with the pages a dark blue and light blue really has excellent contrast. The writing for S.A.M.'s imagination does make him feel like a secret agent.

This will go well with ESOL 9 as this would be an excellent way to incorporate time lines with the lesson, as the events to go throughout the day. Using UDL 8.3 to allow students to work together to make a plot diagram, can also be beneficial for ELL. 7y
JordanL This book is an excellent way to showcase a flow through a story and how there can be multiple plot points. #UCFLAE3414SP18 7y
JenniferMc This looks like a good read for students who love adventure. I would love to add this to my classroom library. 7y

Pickpick

This book is full of imagination. We need more of that in our kids and this book can help develop those skills. It's reminds me of childhood, and for that I love it.
