Decision made: Song of Achilles is on hold right now. I'll pick it back up next week - closer to the book club for it. Now for some sci-fi ya fun!

I was going to give it a so-so but 1) it was written by my two fav authors and 2) the audiobook was brilliant. And perhaps it's because I've read many of their works so, I had an idea what they were up to.

This book explored about love & god & being free, with sci-fi plot narrated by young adults with a touch of romance. Looking past the plot on the surface, I found it deep and philosophical. But like I said, I'm used to their way of thinking.

pppooraikul Not Michael Grant and K.A. Applegate's best work, though. I'd rather suggest Gone series, Everworld series and Animorphs series if you're new to their books. (edited) 8y

Evening, the only daughter of a biogenetic company boss 1. had a near-death accident but survived unscathed and 2. had given a chance to create a perfect human. (A Sim, for that matter.)

Basically that's the two main plot lines and I'm eager to find out how they relate. I'm halfway through and it's quite good though I think it's not as feminist as I expected. But *shrug* I love Grant & Applegate so I tend to bias towards this book from the start.

Not sure why this book has such low reviews, I haven't finished it yet but I'm loving it so far. It's a very quick read and extremely interesting thus far. I'd definitely recommend giving it a try! Also, I love the cover art 😍
