Read this for IRL bookclub. It made for light adventure reading, most suitable for middle grade readers.
The Xmas portion of my obligations are complete. ✔️Woot! 🥳

I thought this book was cute, like a Narnia with some fun word play. I read it a couple weeks ago and I keep thinking about the imagery. #wordplay
I‘m hooked! An impulse buy at the used bookstore turned out to be a great October read✨✨ #strange
This is my first time reading this author's works but, I'm impressed. I enjoyed this short story. Dihkilo was a great main character. Learning about her backstory and what led up to her adventure made the story interesting.
When I saw a fantasy by Michel Faber on the shelf at a bookshop, I had to pick it up.
It‘s a middle grade fantasy, inspired by Narnia and other childhood favorites of the author‘s (and mine.)
Dhikilo wakes up one morning to find that all of the Ds are suddenly missing. People leave them out of their speech (dog becomes og) and street signs have changed (garden is now garen). Then everything with a D in its name starts disappearing…
A soft 👍.
Garden District Book Shop Haul! (Only the tagged is mine- the others are my aunt‘s). It‘s a small indie in a gorgeous neighborhood of historical buildings, just blocks from where I‘m staying.
Pre TV radio and 'Listen with Mother' came into mind when I started reading this story. It is pure fantasy, full of strange creatures, strange lands magical moments and unbelievably exciting adventures. Suitable as a read for children approaching teenhood as an adult I found it completely satisfying . With an ending that will not fail to enrich anyone's day it is a truly enjoyable, comforting, feel good and heart warming read.
Three of the books out of the eleven I have still to read. These will be travelling with me to Fuerteventura at the end of the month if restrictions permit.
I had an advertising email which detailed this book today. It is not the kind of book I normally read but it looks so interesting that I have pre-ordered a copy. Its due out on the 17th September. I have done my usual troll of the book suppliers and have managed to order a copy from 'A Great Read' for £11.36 with free delivery. Amazon price is £16.99 https://agreatread.co.uk/d-a-tale-of-two-worlds-a-modern-day-dickensian-fable-97...
