An excellent YA novel about cults and a zombie like apocalypse.
An excellent YA novel about cults and a zombie like apocalypse.
This one was interesting and a good contrast to The Hallowed Ones. Both are books with a horror bent and both have religious-as-oppression overtones. This one though I enjoyed slightly more, the characters are a little more likeable in their search for hope and redemption and in the end Agnes's leadership is actually inspiring and what I would hope would happen in a worldwide apocalypse.
On the good note I woke up and had 2 holds come in:
🌸 Agnes At The End of the World by Kelly McWilliams
🌸 West by Edith Pattou (this is a sequel to East)

Started out as book about a cult. Then got a little pandemic-y. Then it got a little magical/theological. But over all I was into it.
So... I was gone for several months. But I'm back now! Hopefully to stay!
My #FridayReads. Anyone else have a habit of reading two books at once? 😊 These are both amazing so far!! 💖✨📚
I‘m not sure who the right readers are for this book. It‘s definitely fluffier than I‘d expected and I think that‘s important to know before you pick it up. I do hope that you‘ll love it if you decide to read it, despite my own perspective on it.

Got my copy of Agnes!!!!! I can't wait to dive back and just read this book over and over again!!!
Read With Me Book Club is doing a Summer Road Trip challenge in their Facebook group. I tend to shy away from challenges these days since I‘ve learned that being locked into certain books makes me miserable but I‘ve already been working on filling in a map with places I‘ve visited through books so I thought this one might work for me! Some may say it‘s impossible to visit two states at once but I‘m doing it right now! I‘m

Any day that ends with a brand new, highly anticipated book in my hands can‘t be that bad, right? Today definitely had its share of difficult moments but all was almost forgotten when my husband handed over my copy of Agnes at the End of the World. I had a list of roughly 15 books that I was considering for my preorder pick for June. I think it says a lot when there are so many compelling options but one in

"Cory couldn't break her heart, as Father had broken Mother's. She swore she'd never let herself love him so much that it destroyed her." - Beth from Agnes at the End of the World
Kelly McWilliams, the author, gave me this candle styled after Beth, the sister of Agnes, the heroine of the story. Beth was a brave soul, if a little brash. I loved her anyway.
I can't wait for this book to come out!!!
Just a nest of pre-order goodies...😊. You can get all of these if you preorder today!!
I loved this book so much! It's really good! It features a girl who grew up in a cult and decides to escape with her brother who has diabetes in order top save him. And she ends up in a world she never thought possible, a world ravaged by a pandemic.
