This one was critiqued for revealing “the end†at the beginning of the book and not building up enough suspense. I disagree...the reveal at the end is so much more than the demise of the kids. Great one.
Spanish novels always have this dream-like quality, so grounded in the earth and yet oddly mesmerizing. How can this strange fable be so disturbing and profound? It‘s more than a little haunting and surprising.
