This was one of the best reading experiences I‘ve had this year. Nearly perfect, light but smart YA novel. Easy to follow story about a handful of teens with magical powers in present day south. But sooo good. Almost read it one sitting. Delightful.

ahhh...I wanted to like this way more than I did. I also really disliked James...like A LOT. I don't know if that was what the author wanted but AGH I disliked him! The magic was cool and I liked getting the side of the trio in school and the cult people. Just didn't do anything special for me.
Rep: Gay, m/m romance
If you are wondering what magical realism is, it is this book. It was different than I expected and yet expectedly good.
There are so many new YA LGBTQ+ books coming out (see what I did there? 😜) this year, I decided to start a bookstagram account to share them with the world. My new Instagram is: Rainbow.Bookworm.
Today I‘ll be posting about tagged book (Andrew Eliopulos‘s The Fascinators) and Adiba Jaigirdsr‘s The Henna Wars. My first 3 posts are up!
There is just something about waht looks like a pink ball of magic in the kids hand that screams read me. Is it magic? No idea. No idea what this book is about, but I love the Cover.
