Don't Make a Sound
Don't Make a Sound | T. R. Ragan
7 posts | 8 read | 2 to read
Her own past could be a reporter's biggest story in this twisting thriller about murder and family secrets by the New York Times bestselling author T.R. Ragan. Plagued by traumatic childhood memories, crime reporter Sawyer Brooks still struggles to gain control of her rage, her paranoia, and her life. Now, after finally getting promoted at work, she is forced to return home and face her past. River Rock is where she'd been abandoned by her two older sisters to suffer alone, and in silence, the unspeakable abuses of her family. It's also where Sawyer's best friend disappeared and two teenage girls were murdered. Three cold cases dead and buried with the rest of the town's secrets. When another girl is slain in a familiar grisly fashion, Sawyer is determined to put an end to the crimes. Pulled back into the horrors of her family history, Sawyer must reconcile with her estranged sisters, who both have shattering memories of their own. As Sawyer's investigation leads to River Rock's darkest corners, what will prove more dangerous--what she knows of the past or what she has yet to discover?

Sawyer Brooks returns back home to write a story about the girls who went missing when she aaa younger.

Warning: This book involves a lot of sexual crimes.

I wasn‘t aware there would be any based on the book description so it was surprising but despite that the story was written well and had me hooked. All the secrets that came out were really surprising. I had half of it figured out so the other twist that came were great.

This week has been undoubtedly one of the most challenging for me. The change of pace in going back to school, last-minute lockdown and then some really stressful news midweek has made me feel in need of a real rest and a break from everything.

Kappadeemom Another Lush???? 4y
Connster @Kappadeemom It is! I got a load of Lush stuff for Christmas, so I‘m using it up! I can‘t remember what it‘s called, but it smelled so good 😊 4y

I wanted to like this book. The story idea certainly caught my attention, enough so that I bought it presale. Unfortunately, it was poorly executed. Major info-dumps at the beginning left no room for mystery or suspense. All but two characters, secondary, sounded the same and the theme was pounded in without the richness and depth of subtext and subtlety. The slight twist made it worth finishing.

Did anyone else already pick their FREE Amazon Prime kindle book for May? There were three of the eight that looked good. I chose this one & now I‘m wondering if I should have chosen the legal thriller. Well I Look forward to reading this one & added the other to my wish list. Happy warm Saturday! 🤗
