Say Yes to the Duke
Say Yes to the Duke: The Wildes of Lindow Castle | Eloisa James
12 posts | 12 read | 4 to read
A shy wallflower meets her dream man--or does she?--in the next book in New York Times bestselling author Eloisa James' Wildes of Lindow series. Miss Viola Astley is so painfully shy that shes horrified by the mere idea of dancing with a stranger; her upcoming London debut feels like a nightmare. So shes overjoyed to meet handsome, quiet vicar with no interest in polite society but just when she catches his attention, her reputation is compromised by a duke. Devin Lucas Augustus Elstan, Duke of Wynter, will stop at nothing to marry Viola, including marrying a woman whom he believes to be in love with another man. A vicar, no less. Devin knows hes no saint, but hes used to conquest, and hes determined to win Violas heart. Viola has already said Yes to his proposal, but now he wants her unruly heartand he wont accept No for an answer.

Another solid installment in the series. Viola is not a Wilde by blood but has been a member of the family since she was two and while the family truly sees her as one of their own she still doubts herself. I liked that she learns a sense of confidence over the course of the book and finds out she's just as much a Wilde as the rest of them.

I‘m not sure I got over the weirdness of the start and the insane quirkiness of the heroine. I usually love Eloisa James but this just didn‘t hit the mark for me. I think she‘s better with slight feistier heroines. Never mind.

The first book of the Wildes series is still my favorite, but I did still enjoy this. It was an enjoyable escape from reality for a bit.

Cute, light, and quick with James‘ Shakespearean references and even references to other series by James. I liked Viola and Devin, and their romance was cute and not full of miscommunication, as there tend to be with many romances. James is on her game with this one. Kind of reminded me to Tess and Lucius from the Essex sisters, who get a slight mention in here! ❤️❤️❤️

I'm always eagerly awaiting the next Eloisa James book. Although I've expanded my romance genre reading over the last few years, she will forever be the one I compare all others to and I preorder everything she publishes. Today was a really good book mail day. Also very excited to read The Honey Don't List. And I haven't met a TOR novella I haven't loved!

Just about to head home from work. Hopped on Edelweiss first to check out what ARCs were added today and found the next Eloisa James. And since I finished the Tessa Bailey book on my break, I'm going to start this ARC tonight. 😁❤️
