pickThis is set some time after the earlier Deverry series, but one of the things I appreciated was the sense that the world had changed, technology had advanced, and there were different cultural and political attitudes. Too many fantasy worlds feel static for centuries.
This is definitely the first book in a trilogy, so there isn‘t a tied off ending. I look forward to the next two books in the series!
