Alien - Sea of Sorrows
Alien - Sea of Sorrows | James A. Moore
6 posts | 8 read | 4 to read
As a deputy commissioner for the ICC, Alan Decker's job is to make sure the settlements on LV178 follow all the rules, keeping the colonists safe. But the planet known as New Galveston holds secrets, lurking deep beneath the toxic sands dubbed the Sea of Sorrows. The Weyland-Yutani Corporation has secrets of its own, as Decker discovers when he is forced to join a team of mercenaries sent to investigate an ancient excavation. Somewhere in that long-forgotten dig lies the thing the company wants most in the universe - a living Xenomorph. Decker doesn't understand why they need him, until his own past comes back to haunt him. Centuries ago, his ancestor fought the Aliens, launching a bloody vendetta that was never satisfied. That was when the creatures swore revenge on the Destroyer - Ellen Ripley.

I was expecting to really like this one as the first book was really good but unfortunately this one was long and very boring in my opinion.

I never liked any of the characters and I consider it a terrible addition to the Alien universe.

The_Book_Ninja Are you going through the whole series? 3y
TheNeverendingTBR @The_Book_Ninja Absolutely. The first one was really good but this one was terrible; the third one "River of Pain" sounds better so hopefully it's good. I'm taking a break from it right now though as I'm visiting family in Scotland. So I've just taken my Kindle. 3y
The_Book_Ninja I‘ll be following your reviews of this series with interest.🙌🏼 3y

TheNeverendingTBR @The_Book_Ninja Have you read them? 3y
The_Book_Ninja No, but I‘ve seen them as part of deals on the kindle. I was thinking of reading the movie tie-ins first then picking up the stuff that comes after 3y

🎧 Well James A.Moore I like your book. I‘m listening to this trilogy in reverse order by accident and so far it doesn‘t seem to matter (like that).

I admit that I‘m a mediocre Alien franchise fan. Still enjoyed these 2 books.

In book 2 we meet Decker. He‘s a distant relative of Ripley “The Destroyer” (she‘s centuries dead). The xenomorph has a LONG angry memory and can smell Ripley‘s DNA? Cool.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 👇🏻

Twainy Well I was on the edge of my seat for most of the book because you‘re wondering when the alien is going to pop up. We‘ve got face huggers and gut explosions and people stuck to walls with black ooze.

So the queen is dead, thaw out another! Love it!

Fun addition! Could be a stand alone.
