5⭐
•I could not stop listening, as each detail was revealed I was shook. I remember how scared I was when I heard about the DC sniper attacks and I didn't live anywhere near the DC area, but this book brought back the chilling details of that crime. It's a gripping account that I won't soon forget.
•The narration by Maureen O‘Connell was perfect and the full-cast for the interview style format was absolutely fantastic.

Mehso-so

For a documentary book, it was good. The audible version was a bit on the slow side so it seemed to take a while to get through, but it's very informative.

Did I turn this on and not stop until it was over? Sure did! It was riveting, tense and shows why I LOVE audible original true crime. Telling the story of this horrific spree through interviews with investigators, profilers, and survivors adds all the more feeling than just simply reading the words. It becomes as close to first hand experience as one will get.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Weirdest coincidence happened with this one today...

I‘m listening to this driving to work.
And there‘s an interview with a woman who says, “My name is X, and I was working at my tax business in Hilltop in Tacoma...”

... as I‘m driving in Hilltop to MY job 😮🤯😜. Weird coincidence 💁🏻‍♀️

PS - turning out to be really great - review to follow when I finish tonight ...

A very intense, very well told story of the DC Snipers, with interviews with those who knew them, those who survived, those that lost love ones, and the detectives that tracked them down during their 3 week reign of terror. So good! #Recommendsday

Being from the DC area I remember very vividly all of this happening. I was not sure if I even wanted to listen to this. I remember how terrifying this time was. The fear was overwhelming...
This is really like a long podcast. It is really well done and it was fascinating to hear the side from the investigators as this was unfolding (including forensic linguists, behavioral profilers, & Lucy the bloodhound) So much was going on behind the scenes.

And here's my #WeeklyForecast!

I'm almost done with Call Me God and Wayside School is a pretty fast eArc read, so I'll finish both soon. The rest are kind of up in the air. I want to get to Don't Read the Comments bc Eric is coming to the store soon, and the rest are audiobooks, but I'll be at Winter Institute most of the coming week, so I don't know how much reading time I'll get (even though WI is a booksellers/publishing conference, lol).

The indie bookseller in me has a love hate relationship with Amazon's Audible, but the audiobook loving nerd in me is really enjoying some of their original audiobooks. I just hate that they've got the monopoly on some authors. And that's a short post made long to say that I'm digging this book!

ljuliel This book was SO interesting. I‘m not usually that “WOW‘d by their originals, but this was really good. If you‘re interested, they recently started a podcast about the same subject. It‘s called Monster DC Sniper. 5y
DanaAnne Got to see the author and some FBI agents speak here in DC on this podcast. Was incredible. Such an interesting investigation! 5y
LauraJ I‘m not happy about that either. Keeps the audiobooks from being available at the library and I prefer to use Libro.fm so my local indie gets a cut. 5y
