Loved the narrator character arc. Well-written, bit depressing at points.
The plot was good, but I stuck around because I really wanted some sort of redemption. I‘d recommend if you‘re having family trouble. 7/10

A 60 year old retired widow decides to take on a job in a retirement home. Loved the present day story: main character is well developed. Didn't enjoy the flashbacks and depiction of some of the people he meets. Too many cliches. If the author had stuck to the humorous, delightful tone of the present day narration this book would be a pick but the stiff, unnatural style and cliches of the flashbacks almost ruined the book.
