Rivals!: Frenemies Who Changed the World | Scott Mccormick
4 posts | 3 read | 3 to read
Rivals! Frenemies Who Changed the World is a riotous audio exclusive, like if Monty Python taught your history class. Each volume of four 30-minute histories will dig into the petty name-calling and grumbling grudges that led to many of the world’s greatest advancements, all delivered with a cheeky sense of humor.

What a treat! This audiobook is an in-depth look, specifically about rivalries, between paleontologists, queens, shoemaker brothers, and the best, between Founding Fathers. I especially appreciated learning about Aaron Burr‘s precocious enlightened thinking. Yes I know it‘s for early teens, even so I‘m looking forward to Rivals 2! #scarathlon #batbrigade @Catsandbooks

Day 7 - Best audiobook to listen to on a road trip: Rivals! Frenemies Who Changed the World. Both funny and interesting!

This was cute, short, and rather fun - kind of like Drunk History without the alcohol. I didn't know anything about the rivalry between the brothers who started Puma and Adidas, so that was fascinating, and I didn't know about dinosaur rivalry either. The author's takes on Mary Queen of Scots versus Elizabeth I and Hamilton versus Burr were rather amusing, as well.
