Thanks for tagging me @squirrelbrain @Megabooks !

My daughters gave me the tagged book for Mother‘s Day a few years back. 💗

1) I worked in an ice factory one college summer - in the office- but it was still a weird job. Back in my animation producer days I was ‘Caillou‘s mom‘ - not the mom character, but the one who kept him on track and out of trouble 😜
2)My family. Returning to running &yoga. My mind/body really need it in these Covid times!

Soytoosaucy @KVanRead how do you play? Do I just make the same post, answer and tag you? 4y

Cosmos_Moon_River Awww! So cool! My son used to watch Caillou 🥰 4y
squirrelbrain I‘m going to start yoga again soon. I‘d been to one proper lesson before lockdown so I‘m really looking forward to trying again! 4y
KVanRead @Soytoosaucy yes, exactly. And add the ThankfulThursday hashtag, tag cosmos_moon, and tag a couple of others you‘d like to invite to play😊 4y
KVanRead @squirrelbrain I‘m actually just doing an old yoga video on Amazon prime on my tv - I used to do it all the time ages ago - sadly I find it harder now - but I feel great afterwards. 4y
LeahBergen Caillou! 4y
KVanRead @Cosmos_Moon Aww, that‘s great 😊 4y
KVanRead @LeahBergen 😘🥰😘 4y
Megabooks That‘s really cool working in animation! 4y
KVanRead @Megabooks it was a while ago now, but it was a lot of fun 4y

7/28 books so far (25%), 2 #ownvoices. Good to know for the second half of the year.
I loved Aaron Shurin‘s essay “Full Spectrum” in tagged book & the map of butterfly places & queer spaces.
I probably did better last year as I read pretty much all of Armistead Maupin💗
Speaking of Tales of the City, photo is of The Pink Triangle that was illuminated last night - due to COVID it got an upgrade from cloth to 2700 LED lights!
Happy Pride! 🏳️‍🌈

ChasingOm Thank you for sharing the picture! And that book sounds really interesting...I‘ll keep it on my “to read while traveling” list for when I go to San Francisco again! 4y
KVanRead @ChasingOm It‘s a great essay collection with beautiful art/maps. And the Pink Triangle made me so happy last night when walking the dog 😊 The lights actually move it‘s very cool.💗🏳️‍🌈💗🏳️‍🌈 4y
bookishkai I‘ve read 40/90 with characters who identify as LGBTQ+, and at least 15 of those are by #ownvoices authors. Favorite is Suanne Laqueur‘s Venery series, starting with 4y
KVanRead @bookishkris that‘s awesome! And that book looks good!! (edited) 4y
ValerieAndBooks That‘s very pretty 💖! And Armistead Maupin... I have all the Tales of the City books but got sidetracked when I was somewhere midway...but I know I need to re-start because it‘s been a while! 4y
bookishkai @KVanRead you really should read it! 4y
KVanRead @ValerieAndBooks I really enjoyed them all and each in its own way. Loved his memoir too 4y

An absolute treasure, a soothing balm in a hard time. An atlas like no other - social/anthropological/historical/political/natural/spiritual/gustatory/artistic...full of exquisite art&writing, inspiring juxtapositions/connections fueled by a deep and inspiring curiosity. This love letter to San Francisco reminds you great beauty and great pain often coexist and while we must acknowledge and fight the bad we must also appreciate and enjoy the good.

As we continue to shelter in place here in San Francisco, seems like the right time to finally dig into this fascinating atlas of the place in which we are sheltering!

Christmas #bookhaul! Including my secret santa books. Great day so far! Already had pannetone French toast with extra nutmeg, bacon, and rose champagne. Didn't get the snow that was hinted at, but sunny day and hard frost is making the outside all sparkly. Merry Christmas to all! 🎄📚❄🍾😍🎄
