bailedI really wanted to like The Good Cop. It's set in one of my favourite places and times in history. I actually quite liked the beginning. But then it went into political tirades that were clearly meant to be commentaries on today's politics. The mystery plot was a total mess. The characters were hard to connect.
Sorry, but no.
On to The Poppy Field, which has sit on my reader for quite some time.
Well, apparently, l've caught up with the #FellowshipOfTolkien #NotionClub Tomorrow we start The Deowing of Anadune and l can't wait.
I'm afraid l'm bailing on The Good Cop. I really wanted to like it. I adore Weimar Germany. But really this mystery is as unattractive as they come.
With all the craziness going on in October, l didn't realise this #NetGalley ARC is expiring. But l still have a couple of weeks.
First impression isn't stellar. At 16% l still have no club what the story is about and l have zero connection with the MC.
The sense of place and time (Munchen 1920) is extremely week and based on name more than any true setting.
Let's see. I love Weimar Germany, so l'll keep on.
